Evocation of the Political Prisoners Liberation of Caxias Prison

On this afternoon of April 26, the Minister of Justice, Francisca Van Dunem, and the Mayor of Oeiras, Isaltino de Morais, unveiled a plaque evoking the day of the release of political prisoners from the Caxias prison on April 26, 1974 .

Around this plate, a group of men and women remembered the day they left Caxias.

Emotionally, one of them, Eugénio Ruivo, interrupted the ceremony to tell the anxious moments of delayed release.

Can be recognized as the man who holds up a poster, high up, with the image of the liberation of the prisoners.
