Imprisoned Lives – Raul Zagalo

17 Janeiro 2019

The “Assault on the Beja Barracks”, on the last night of 1961, was the reason for the conversation that Raul Zagalo kept with us (museum, students, community) on January 16. A start for the regime, in a troubled year, with the backdrop of the Colonial War and the clandestine presence of Humberto Delgado in the country, a threat to Salazar.

This is the story of a confrontation that exposes the way in which the struggle against the Dictatorship was set, even without  the minimum conditions of success.

It was a signal for the regime.
