Teacher Training Course – History, Memory and Truth

15 February 2020

Memories of Struggle and Resistance in Building Active Citizenship February 1, 6, 11 and 15

What History did we build and tell about Portuguese fascism? And how do we tell our story here at the Museum? How do we use social memory about the Dictatorship and how do we transmit it to those who visit us?

These are the subjects that we are going to share during the month of February, with teachers who will help us to refine our critical sense, at the same time that they themselves delve into the problems that the Museum addresses.

To question the Truth we have also to develop a “historical intelligence” that contributes to understanding and promoting the transformation of the world we live in, in the sense of Freedom and Democracy. And because “all time is eternally present”, also take advantage of the lived experience to, through your knowledge, prevent something similar to historical fascism from being repeated among us.
