At the end of the 60s Progressive Catholics, student workers, young people against the regime, from the most diverse political affiliations, installed themselves at number 34 of the Bairro do C.A.S.I (Child Social Assistance Center), in Vila Franca de Xira. There, the “34” Group was born and with it a cultural pole of discussion and political activity and resistance to the dictatorship.
