Accessibility
At the Aljube Museum – Resistance and Freedom, physical, intellectual, and social accessibility is a permanent commitment of the entire team to ensure that all visitors have a welcoming, inclusive, and extraordinary experience. We have several resources that you can request at the Museum reception to fully and equitably enjoy our space and activities.
How to get to the Aljube Museum
The nearest step-free Metro station is “Terreiro do Paço” (Blue Line) or “Baixa-Chiado” (Blue/Green Line).
In front of the Museum there is a public transport stop where bus 737 (accessible for people with reduced mobility) and trams 12/28 stop.

Entrance
The Museum entrance has no steps, a manually operated door, with an accessible width for wheelchair users.
The museum has tactile paving.
Tickets
The standard ticket costs €3, to which various discounts apply, as you can see in our price list. For every ticket for people with disabilities (€2.60), a free ticket for a companion can be added.
Temporary exhibitions are free.
Assistance dogs
We accept service dogs. These must be under your control during the visit. Ideally, they should remain on a leash and wear a suitable harness.
Loan of mobility aids
A wheelchair is available at the Museum ticket office to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Lockers
We have lockers available where you can store your belongings before starting your visit.
Getting around
Quieter times to visit
The Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
Visits are usually quieter on weekdays in the morning.
We frequently have guided tours for school groups and informal groups.
The Museum is especially busy on weekends.
If you need to find a quieter space, ask a member of the Museum’s reception staff.
Accessible Route
The exhibitions and auditorium are accessible to all, including wheelchair users, with elevators on all floors.

Accessible Restrooms
The restrooms are located on the 4th floor, and one of the toilet facilities is adapted.
Rest Areas
Throughout the Museum you can find several rest areas, and we also offer portable chairs.
